AStro expeditions

Animated ux design project

The animated video was part of a larger UX group project, in collaboration with Niko Venice Valenzuela and Johanna Greif, for a Digital Media Design class. The goal was to create a video demonstrating/advertising a designed product or experience given the scenario “Space Tourism”, persona “People with short attention spans”, and modifier “entertaining”.

Through our research, we’ve found that people think space travel is only for the rich. So, how can we bring this experience to the general public? Our group’s solution was to design Astro Expeditions, an interactive exhibit that provides the attention-grabbing experience of space tourism to the general public. This was done by combining education, exploration, and entertainment through immersive technology and gallery exhibitions. The exhibition is divided into three main phases and uses the narrative of boarding a plane at the airport as a familiar experience for the user to follow.

Niko Venice Valenzuela was our lead visual designer and created the assets used in the video, Johanna Grief was our lead UX designer who led the prototyping and research process and provided the voice over for the final video. My role was lead motion designer and animator.
