The website is a fully designed and coded, single paged web experience that tells a unique story, created for a Digital Media Design course.
The story I chose to tell was about the in-universe history of the Star Wars lightsaber. This website visually illustrates it in a way that engages the audience and immerses them in the Star Wars universe. Videos and transitions are used to simulate the Star Wars cinematic universe and provides a captivating, and possibly educational, experience.
Concept Evolution
Star Wars’ brand sets the audience in new galaxies and worlds, famously known for outer space adventures and using the glow of props to illuminate characters. The overall visual tone is dark with highlights of saturated red, blue, and green for the animations, and yellow and white for text, since the opening title of the movies are in a recognizable yellow. Plenty of breathing space is incorporated between elements for a spacey, anti-gravity feel. Quick information and animated visuals are the main priorities of the website. The copy is short while the visuals are the main focal point.
